in Giethoorn village
There are many ways to spend the night in Giethoorn village. On this page the hostels of Giethoorn are discussed.
In the car-free part of Giethoorn village you can find this cute Dutch hostel. Right by the canals you can find this 19th century former farmhouse with thatched roof and big garden of 4000 square meter with lovely seating areas. This hostel is known as The Black Sheep Hostel.
The owners ( Chinese-Indonesian Jimmi and Dutch Gea ) live in the front part of this small hostel, which gives it the intimate and local vibe of a b&b (and yes, breakfast is included). Parking can be done next to the hostel at Zuiderpad 19 in Giethoorn and is free of charge. The hostel rates are competitive with the rest of the Netherlands.
In these times of the corona virus pandemic, the vibe and service are especially intimate. Dorms are no longer shared with others, and you’re quite likely to have the place (and that includes a kitchen) to yourself at hostel rates.
The hostel is open 10 months a year, exept December and January.
